1/21/2025 Week 54- a year without woodworking

Pretty crazy week. It was definitely a harder week, it was pretty rough up until Sunday. All but 2 of our lessons were canceled/rescheduled. But Sunday is when it got so much better!! Ok and also, I just hit a year, so that's crazy. Looking forward to all the opportunities in the next year!!!

For pday we didn't do much, we did get to play pickleball in the morning which was super fun!! And then we drove around to a couple thrift stores but didn't find much. I did find a couple cool ties and one of them explains my mood a lot, you'll have to guess which one :)

Tuesday we had Zone conference which was super awesome!! Talked about finding joy in daily repentance and how we can become master inviters. Zone Conference is always super fun!! That night we got to have dinner with the senior missionaries who oversee the temple construction!!!

Wednesday was zone council,  so many meetings. And then I started off an exchange with Elder Summerhays.  He's from Lincoln California which isn't too far from me so that was pretty cool. Turns out he went to some of the same parks I went to as a kid! But he's such a cool missionary. That night we had the opportunity to play mechanic. Basically we saw a couple people working on their car and me being me I offered to help. Of course I didn't know what I was doing but it sparked a conversation. We had a member go by the next day to help out. And they came to church on Sunday!!!

Thursday, not much happened, just a bunch of contacts and canceled lessons :(

Friday we went down to Grandview to help a member with some painting and repairing a gate/fence. And let's just say I enjoyed it so much. I knew I loved woodworking but it's not until you don't do it for a year that you really miss it. But it was a fun challenge for me!!

Saturday got to go back down to Grandview and help more with painting and the gate. And then more lessons that fell through :(

And then Sunday is when everything turned around. We had 5 friends come to church which is way more than we were expecting!! The Sabbath is always the best day of the week!

Yall are literally the best.
Love all yall 3000 🩵

1/13/2025 Week 53- the (Great Storm)

This week was filled with a lot of craziness!!

Monday we didn't do much, just went thrifting for a little bit and I found myself a new suit! But yeah nothing too eventful.

Tuesday was super fun!! We had district council and well we were only 15 minutes late this time 😵‍💫. It was cool though because we had some members join us and help with the training! Had lunch at Fuzzy's with a member afterward! And that night we got to start our exchange!!

Wednesday was a super awesome day! I got to show Elder Hansen (he's only been out a week) around my area and he's so awesome! Is so willing to talk to everyone he sees. We had a fun time rolling down our window talking to everyone!!

Thursday and Friday were the crazy days. Due to the snow that was forecasted and came we were asked to stay in our apartments for the day. It wasn't too bad. I mean we got to have 4 Zoom lessons over those two days so it wasn't too bad. Got to drive through the "worst snow ever" a couple times. We had a lot of fun too.

Saturday we had a lot of lessons lined up again, and only 2/6 happened but hey that's better than no lessons! Also there was a crazy experience that night too, it was around 7 at night and I thought we needed to be back at the church but had no idea why. We went anyway and I had the thought that I'd be giving someone a blessing that night. And THEN the sister missionaries came up to us and asked if we could give one of their friends a blessing. It is so cool how the spirit works. I am so grateful to have the gift of the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, and I know that God is real!

Sunday we partook of the sacrament! And had a couple lessons. Sundays are always the craziest but they are so powerful!

Stay safe, love all yall 🤟

1/6/2025 Week 52- I raced a Lamborghini and won 😋

This past week was super awesome!! Got to say goodbye to Elder Cain and Hello to Elder Larsen!! He's super cool!

On Monday before transfers we went over to a members house and he let us each build a magic deck so that was super fun! Now I have 6 magic decks, only 1 really good, it is fun to play with the rest though!!

Tuesday had a lot of fun getting everything set up with a new companion, we also had a lesson with Phillip whose baptism is on the 11th!! Super excited about that!

Wednesday we got to go over to help Denise out and put together the recliner the firefighters took apart last week to save her dog. We also had district council and let's just say it didn't go too well. It was supposed to be at 12:30 but a couple elders in our district were an hour late 😵‍💫. Other than that it was a great time. It was cool to lead it for the first time, definitely made me realize again my love for teaching even though I'm such an introvert. Then we had dinner with our ward mission leader which was great!

Thursday was a chaotic day, had breakfast with a member and then went down to help another member paint a building. Just meant I got to climb more ladders :) I also got to sad some more wood, I definitely don't miss that part of woodworking! We then had 3 lessons afterwards!!

Friday got to do a mini-exchange so I could make it to a meeting. Went with Elder Straw, a Marshallese Elder. He's awesome!! Then the rest of the day we made a bunch of contacts and found a really awesome family! Oh and that night I got to paint my new toy :)

Saturday got to help our friend Denise again with more house problems! And a really sweet lesson with her afterward!! We had 7 lessons planned that day and surprisingly only 3 fell through!!

Sunday was amazing as always! Got to go to the YSA sacrament meeting because one of our friends was gonna go but he didn't show up :( anyway after that got to go to our ward which was jam-packed. Anddd the ward still grows every week.
