Elder Bryce Thompson: August 2025

Week 79- Happy 4th of July

Monday started out pretty good, went to Coco Shrimp as a district!! Some really good food for sure. We then went to the church to play some games. We started a game of chair soccer... I was racing a sister to the ball and well she got hurt. Definitely my fault. But hey she's feeling better and her companion is an amazing person so she's got good support. I don't feel too bad. Anyway, after that we went over to a member's home and got to help give a few blessings which was so powerful!

Tuesday we got to have district council! Ok actually we got Swig before for the sisters who were affected by my overly competitive nature the day before. Anyway, after that we had a lesson with some youth and made a plan of salvation puzzle with Pearler beads!!! It was tons of fun.

Wednesday we had Zone conference. It was really good! It was definitely different than with President John but the Lovelands are so awesome! We talked about so many things, it was so good!! That took up the whole day

Thursday had weekly planning and met 2 really awesome people! One of them is married to a member and hasn't wanted anything to do the church for the longest time but something had changed and now he wants to meet with us!!

Friday, The 4th of July, our whole morning/afternoon was taken up by MLC. Super long meeting, but very insightful! Half of it was just really good council about how we can help our areas out! Then that night we went to some other Elders apartment. They have a roof top deck so we went up there and we were able to see fireworks all around us!!

Saturday we had some contacts and met a couple really cool people! It felt like a longer day but it was super rewarding!!

Sunday was special. In our first ward the youth didn't have a teacher so we got to teach their class on 0 notice. We showed up and the opportunity presented itself. I'm super grateful for the spirit, otherwise it wouldn't have gone very well. I also was able to bless the sacrament for the second ward and that was amazing!

Week 78- Dad mode activated 😎

Super fun start to the week, for pday we got food at Costa Vida and then headed to another Antique store. I've been there 3 times in the last month, still really cool everytime! No one in the district bought any boots 😕. I tried to scare one of the sisters with a taxidermied rattlesnake but I didn't plan enough! Got to watch the first episode of The Chosen season 5! It was really good. Then we got to play some card games with a really awesome family!

Tuesday we had District Council with the BEST District Leader and the BEST district. I'm so blessed to serve around all these amazing missionaries! Anyway, afterwards we had a couple really good lessons!

Wednesday we had an exchange and , Elder Anderson, a new missionary joined me for the day. It was so fun to be with him. He is so eager to do the work 😁. We saw so many miracles together so it was a GREAT day. One of the miracles was that we saw a lady mowing her lawn and I drove past her but we both felt that we should stop and see if she needed help. She let us help and THEN she asked if she could join us at church so that was a super cool miracle. I also got to have fun pretending to be a Dad mowing a lawn! I got to mow a lawn later that night for a lady in our ward. It made me realize I can't wait to be a Dad and mow my own lawn!!

Thursday Elder Baker had to get his foot checked up on and well good news, he doesn't need surgery!!! We then had some other contacts that fell through but super good day none the less.

Friday had lunch with a super awesome family and then we got to go and meet President and Sister Loveland, my new mission leaders! They are amazing!!! They are super funny too so that's a bonus!!

Saturday started off with a service project at a members house clearing branches and moving them to a burn pile. It was good honest work! While talking to a sister there, she mentioned she really wanted goats and that reminded me how it would be so fun to own a bunch of land and have some animals and have a big lawn so I can be a real DAD!! Had some other lessons planned but only one of them with through :( Shoutout Donald though!

Sunday we had church 🙃. Got to help teach the 8 year-olds so that was fun! Sunday is the best day of the week, despite it being one of the most hectic days, it is when I find the most peace!!

Ok side thing, but apparently I sneeze really loud like a dad would... 👨

Week 77- "IM NOT TRUNKY"

Monday we got to do a lot of fun stuff! Started off the day by going boot shopping... dont worry, it was for Elder Smith. I didn't buy any this time. We them had district lunch and then had a water balloon fight with the district! It was a lot of fun, especially targeting the sisters!

Tuesday I said goodbye to Elder Smith 🥲. It was a great 6 weeks spent with him! Now he's going home, it was so much fun telling others he was trunky when in no way was he actually. He was such a hard worker up until he hit the plane! I then picked up Elder Ence & Baker!! 2 very amazing missionaries.

Wednesday we got things up and going and we went to have a normal day then our truck's battery completely died on us 🙃. So we went to DC with some other Elders and then were driven to the mission office to pick up a new car! And if you remember almost a year ago... it's the same model that drives itself 👀. Don't worry I won't do it too much 🫣.

Thursday, had weekly planning and then we spent a couple hours filming some ads for social media. So like watch out, you might see me somewhere! It was a lot of fun!! Ended the night with a scripture study with the youth.

Friday we had a farewell meeting for President and Sister John, it was super good! Then that night Elder Baker rolled his ankle really bad so we went to urgent care at 8 and didn't get home until almost 11!

Saturday was a normal day today! Not much else went on.

Sunday we went to church, only to 2 sacraments now but still pretty crazy. Got to go to a youth fireside that night. Super great day!!!
