3/31/2025 Week 64- Tommy, Strauss, and Fergy

Monday was a super crazy day. Ended the transfer with a bang for real! Went to Costco for lunch and snagged some hot dogs and ate in style 💯. After that we went fossil hunting in Mineral Wells!?!? Didn't find anything but it was fun. Played some pickleball and I actually won for once!! Ok then the fun began... because my 2 companions were leaving we decided to go and buy some baby chicks for our friend Dawn! We tried one store then another then another and then finally we went to someone's home and we found some!! We each got one to give to Dawn! One named Tommy, Fergy, and Strauss. All named after us 😁. That was a fun night!!

Tuesday I lost my two companions 😭😭😭. Then I picked up two more! Elder O'Reilly who I came out with and Elder Adams! They are both super hard working so I'm excited to see where we take this area! We did a lot of driving get things working for the zone. But then we met with the new Stake president here in Weatherford which was so great!

Wednesday we had district council and it was really good! And right after we started our first exchange already. I had the privilege of being with Elder Bolkeim for the day!!! He is one of the best missionaries I've served around! Had a lesson with Dawn and then went to mutual!

Thursday early in the morning we worked more on Dawn's backyard project and got it 95% done. We then got to help a member move up to a
Azle. Just made a bunch of contacts the rest of the day!

Friday was so hectic mainly beacuase we had to drive to Colleyville for MLC and that right there was 2 1/2 hours of driving. And then studied for an hour and then drove to Stephenville for a baptismal interview. I got the priviledge of doing it! Then we drove to Granbury to plan a zone council with the STLs. We probably did about 5 1/2 hours of driving that day 🥱.

Saturday nothing really crazy happened. Just did the normal missionary stuff. Made some contacts and that's about it.

Sunday was awesome because we partook of the sacrament and had a good time at church. Our friend Zach was able to make it!!

3/24/2025 Week 63- **New Pillar Added, Master Builder

Monday we went to Capernaum Studios for P-day!! If any of you don't know, it's where parts of the 1st season of the Chosen were filmed! It is such a cool place!!! I took a bunchhh of photos so look at my google photos! That night we went and helped one of our members move in.

Tuesday we had district council out in GRAHAM!! We started the day by going to Euless for packages and the mission office.  And then took the 2 hour long drive to Graham. It's fine because I love driving! Then afterwards I started an exchange in Graham with Elder Bertoch.

Wednesday I stayed part of the day in Graham and did some studies!! It was a lot of fun!! Then drove back to Weatherford and started on more of Dawn's service project!

Thursday was a pretty normal day made up with a bunch of contacts, that's about all that we did!

Friday we started on all the big stuff with Dawn's project. I built the fence and gate for her. We finished most of it and had to go by the next day! We then went back and had a lesson with Dawn!!

Saturday morning I finished up the gate and fence with the help of my comps and then I started on building a ramp for her to get down easier! See photos for progress. Then right after that we went to help a member with some service! Did a lot of service that day. Anddd we were at pep boys for 2 1/2 hours. Despite not having much time, we were able to find 5 new people to teach!!! It's incredible how much God blesses us!

Sunday was an incredible but sad day. Elder Straw and Ferguson found out that they are both leaving. We'll see where they end up going on Tuesday and who my new companion is. They basically just said goodbye all day.

3/17/2025 Week 62- broken pipes and a Baptism

Monday we had our zone pday which was super fun, I pulled out the wiffle ball bat and played. It was in the gym so wasn't too crazy but I did slide around a bunch scoring some runs 🤓. Ended the night with a really good lesson with Dawn!

Tuesday we had our zone council and got to learn all about being inconvenienced in missionary work and pushing through and talking to everyone and ministering to them. Then afterwards we started an exchange with the AP's!! Elder Holmes joined us and we learned a bunch from him. We measured out for one of the service projects I get to take on :) Made some visits and that's about it!

Wednesday we got to go to Fort Worth it exchange back and that was a lot of driving. Then we went over with the young men and helped move some gravel and dig some holes!

Thursday we started off by going to Granbury to help open up a new apartment for missionaries. We were helping out the Haslam's who were in the FW YSA with me so that was so much fun!! Had some great lessons then we headed down to Stephenville for another exchange! We drove a total of about 5 hours. But no worries because I get to drive!

Friday was so much fun!! Elder Hokanson and I were together here in WF and we started on a service project for our friend Dawn. We're rebuilding a fence for her as well as building a ramp so she can walk to her chicken easier!! Good thing I've rebuilt our fence a couple times with my dad! We jammed our frontier full of materials which was definitely a challenge!!

Saturday was Blaze's baptism and let's just say to start the day off we experienced a bunch of water... not the kind we wanted. We were digging a hole for a post when Elder Straw hit a water pipe and it started leaking 🫣. Not to worry though. After like 10 walks around the house we found the water cut off and started fixing it. Then after 2 trips to Home Depot I was able to fix the pipe. You can call me a master plumber 😎. Ok after all of that craziness we witnessed Blaze making her first covenant with God!!!

Sunday was a special day because Dawn MADE IT TO CHURCH!!! She was able to partake of the sacrament and it was so cool for her! I also got to bless the sacrament for the first time in a while and that was a sacred experience for me :) Sunday's are always the best!!

3/10/2025 Week 61- Look mom, I caught a beaver

Monday we had district council which was nice to be at in person. Made some visits and met some awesome people!! Got to end the night with a lesson with Dawn ❤️

Tuesday we barely made it to the temple for our appointment. We were also crammed into a tiny suv, but I'm not complaining because at least the temple is only an hour and a half away and I get to go every 6 weeks!

Wednesday we went over to Dawn's and I got to fix her chicken coop which was a lot of fun of course 💯. We then got the band back together and rightfully got Elder Ferguson back with us. Went to young men's that night and had another lesson afterwards.

Thursday interviews were supposed to happen and well Prez got sick so he pushed them to the next day which worked out but it was a lot of craziness for sure. Anyway, traveled to Granbury to visit a friend. They didn't answer but we stopped by a new gas station on the way back and they have a bunch of free stuff 😎. And went to Dawn's for another lesson!!!

I've talked so much about Dawn. Here is a few of her quotes since meeting her, just so you can get to know her better!

Elder Thompson: "Will you be baptized by someone holding the proper authority just like Jesus was?"
Dawn: "Okie dokie"

*Dawn casually playing angry birds*
Dawn: "Ah fiddlesticks"

Member: "why did you answer the door for the missionaries?"
Dawn: "The spirit slapped me upside the head"

Elder Ferguson: "Can we get a picture with you?"
Dawn: "I'm going to poke you in the eye"

Elder Straw: "Do you want this locked?"

Dawn: "Yes because of the boogeyman"

Friday was a great day now that we had interviews! It was a little different this time for me, I got to train the other Elders who are in the Zone so that was a lot of fun. The first set of Elders was rough but it got better! We had a bunch of visits that day as well and again met some really cool people.

Saturday we got to help a British member in our ward. That alone is cool. We also help another member with his property, it wasn't super crazy work but it just made we want to buy a piece of land that much more haha. Oh and when we were out that way we saw a beaver... it wasn't alive. And no Dad I didn't try to eat it this time. Anyways, more visits and lesson with Blaze who's getting baptized next Saturday!!

Sunday we had Church and partook of the sacrament!! We got to help with a mission prep class which was super fun! Then that night we just planned our zone council this upcoming week!
