Elder Bryce Thompson: September 2025

7/28/2025 Week 82- Suspenders Exchange part 524

Monday was a super awesome day!! We went to big shots as a district! It's just like top golf. I did lose our game of angry birds but to be fair I was on intermediate while everyone else was on easy 🥲. Anyway, after that we went to the church and shot some hoops. Went by really fast but ended up being like 2 hours.

Tuesday we had our district council, last one of the transfer. And of course it was really good! Our district leader is amazing and our district is the best. Gonna miss them for real! Had some awesome lessons that night

Wednesday we took Elder Baker to PT. Afterwards we went and mowed an older lady's lawn! I got to weed eat so that was fun!! Felt like I was a dad again, with really cool superpowers this time. Had other contacts and dinner with a really sweet family. Started an exchange with Our Mighty DL.

Thursday Elder Gibbs and I got to go on exchange and well it's a tradition now that anytime we do we have to wear suspenders so of course we got a pic! Saw a lot of miracles. We called a referral and he really wanted to come to church and help his daughter get baptized so of course we said yes! Had a scripture study with the youth which was good.

Friday we had weekly planning and a bunch of contacts, nothing too special

Saturday started off with a Pioneer breakfast with one of the wards, then we went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch and had a really good dinner and then had a dessert with our Ward Mission leader. Such a food filled day but it was worth it! Had a great lesson with Jordan.

Sunday was really special, found out I'm leaving :( but we got to go to church 3x. Usually we go twice but our friend Jordan couldn't make it to anything during the day because of work so we told him we'd go to the spanish service with him at 7! He doesn't speak Spanish but the sacrament is the most important thing!!

7/21/2025 Week 81- I went to Bryce Canyon!

Sorry for the super long email last week!

Monday for pday we got food at Costa Vida then we attempted to play baseball but no one really wanted to play so we ended up playing kickball for a bit then went inside to do more, shot some hoops and played catch for a while. Ended the night with dinner and a couple visits!!

Tuesday we had an amazing district council!! Talked about daily contact with our friends which was much needed. Visited a bunch of people and that was the day.

Wednesday we had interviews with President Loveland which took super long. We got to do a training with the other Elders in the Zone so we were at the church from 12-5:15 🥲. It was good though because the interviews were worth it!! That night we went to youth night an got to play a couple rounds of backyard football with the youth!

Thursday was a pretty normal day, tons of contacts and our scripture study/ game night with the youth!! We also stumbled across a couple really cool street names! Mormon Trail and Bryce Canyon Drive!! Started an exchange with Elder Duckett in his area!

Friday was a really fun day. It was super hot and no one was outside but we pressed forward and got QT ice cream which helped a ton. I got to hold a couple bearded dragons. We then met Chris and his wife who are both super cool. Had dinner with a super awesome family and got a pic with their really biggg dog! Helped out with a move and that was about it.

Saturday we started the day with going to the Temple because we had a couple recent converts go for their own endownment which was such a cool experience to be a part of! I got to see a bunch of people I knew from previous ward's, Including the youth of the FW5 ward!!! Went to In n Out afterwards of course... The rest of the day was filled with a bunch of contacts and weekly planning!

Sunday, had church and partook of the Sacrament!!! I got to teach another youth class this week which was a blast. It was on Asking God in prayer when we have questions!

7/14/2025 Week 80- I'm a real Mormon Missionary now!

Monday was a normal missionary day. Started the day off by going to the office and making some handouts for our zone council! (See pictures) then Zone Council!! It was super amazing and spirit-filled. It was different than normal. We spent most of the time counseling with each other about the struggles in each of our areas. So many ideas were shared! We ended the night with a couple of visits.

Tuesday we got to go to the temple! It was super awesome as always. Our Elders quorum president who's from Sacramento took us and we ended up getting In n Out afterwards... have to have that California tradition. Afterwards we went to a member's house where I could get a haircut and watch the Chosen Season 5! Our district tagged along too. It was a good time, we got to the scene when Jesus cleanses the temple and man was it good! Had a lesson that night and that's about it

Wednesday we got to go on exchanges with one of the APs and what do you know... Elder Langston gets to join us, one of my district leaders who I still look up to so much! Anyway, we saw so many miracles. Had a lesson with our new friend Jordan!!

Thursday wasn't too crazy, had weekly planning and got to help a couple members pack up some stuff for a move. Ended the night with a scripture study for the youth and went and borrowed a couple bikes for the next day 👀

Friday I got to be a real Mormon missionary! Myself and a service missionary went and blitzed up in trophy Club. What that means is went went and worked another missionaries area to help them out. We biked around which was a ton of fun. Started of by visiting some people and going to Chick-fil-A for lunch and had a good comp study! Then did some more riding, talked to people at Tom Thumb and then got kicked out just as we were about to leave. Oh well people just don't like Jesus I guess 🤷. Did more visits, some guy got us water so that was awesome! Then the sisters brought us slurpees, that helped a ton. Had dinner with the Larsen's. And ended the night by joining another companionship for the day.

Saturday I joined the YSA Elders to learn from them! Started the day off by taking their car in for service so we ended up walking around for an hour or so! Then made some other visits for the day and that's about it!

Sunday, we had church, I got to help with the sacrament again. Oh and we got to teach the Young Women which was super fun! Had SMC, and that was the week!!
