Monday was a lot of fun!! We went to the stockyards again and I almost bought a pair of spurs for kicks and giggles but I decided against it 🙃. (pun not intended) After that we went and played more baseball as a district... I also nailed Elder wilson in the leg with a golf ball I hit. We also played sand volleyball!! After that we got to watch President Nelson's bday celebration!! And to end off the day, as a ysa we held a birthday party for P-Nelly 🥳🥳. We all dressed as if we were 100 years old!
Tuesday we had district council and found out our district leader was being transfered early :( We also drove down to Grandview again for our friend Colton. And finished the day with more volleyball 😁
Wednesday we got to be on campus for a decent amount of time. I love campus work!! For dinner the member made us French toast waffles which were delicious! For young men's that night we went to the fire station and washed a few firetrucks. Colby has
gotta be jealous 😉
Thursday we also went on campus for a good while. There just seemed to be less people than usual. We did end up having a couple good lessons! That leads to a cool visit we had. She was a media referral so we stopped by and when she opened the door she pointed out that she was deaf. I stumbled and basically just wrote things on my phone for her to read and she told us she wanted the ASL elders to come by. It wasn't very smooth but it worked. If only I remembered the ASL Sister Arkell taught me 🤷♂️. Anyways that night, one of our members took us to Texas Roadhouse and me and him ate blue steak, which is basically just raw steak cooked only on the outside. It was actually so good!!
Friday was just filled with a bunch of visits to inactive members and we also had a couple lessons. One with Omar who just got baptized! Super excited to go to the temple with him soon! We had dinner with a member family and they have a daughter who's 17 and a senior in high school and then it finally hit me that Erin (my younger sister) is 17 and a senior in high school. Like that doesn't make any sense...It's like it was yesterday that her and I would jump on the trampoline playing random games 😵💫
Saturday was so much fun!!!! There was a service project down in Burleson and well it was building beds for charity! So we went and I ended up sanding for about 2 1/2 hours straight. But hey I never I thought I'd enjoy sanding as much as I did that day The rest of the day was just a bunch of planning :( At dinner we tried Oreo flavored Coca-Cola?!?! No idea that was a thing haha. It wasn't bad but also no good.
Sunday we had church like normal but then we called one of our recent converts and he told us he's taking a bus up to Denton TX and moving there. He decided that in one day. I'm a little worried but good thing I know the YSA ward up there really well so I know he's in good hands!!
Monday we had DC and not much else happened. Pretty uneventful day. For FHE we were in a circle and we talked about our favorite music artists/albums. It was interesting for sure.
This past week has been very stressful and discouraging, but I know as I continue to put forth effort, my efforts will be magnified!
